William IV Cellarette

Description

A William IV Cellarette.

The octagonal hinged lid with a concave edge, finished with a fine gadrooned banding. The body gently tapering inward and downward, of octagonal shaping to follow the form of the lid, and likewise finished with a band of broader gadrooning. The cellarette mounted with substantial gilt brass ring carrying handles on scrolled leaf brackets. The whole raised up on melon shaped gadrooned feet, holding concealed castors. The interior lead lined with divisions for single and magnum shaped bottles. Complete with lock and key.

Date circa 1830.
