An exquisite cut glass dressing table pot. In heart shaped form, the cut glass is beautifully designed with a lovely diamond shape pattern around the upper half of the pot and rectangular cut pattern around the lower half. The embossed silver lid is gorgeous with a swirling pattern with monogram engraved in the centre. The underneath of the lid has a lovely pale gold gilt finish and engravings are visible on one side for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1898 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The silver maker''s mark has been overstruck with the mark for William Henry Sparrow. (Note: William Henry Sparrow was registered as a silversmith in 1903 and has overstruck the original maker''s mark on this item.)
Condition: Both glass and silver in lovely condition.
