Georgian Burr Walnut Lowboy Side Table Circa 1740

18th century
Description

An early Georgian walnut lowboy, circa 1740, of small proportions, possibly Welsh, the rectangular top with chamfered moulded edge, quarter veneered and crossbanded in burr walnut.The single frieze drawer crossbanded in burr walnut and lined in oak, with original brass escutcheon and the handles with chased backplates, the shaped apron continuing on the sides. Raised on turned and tapering legs terminating in pad feet. 

In original, unrestored condition with some losses t the quarter veneering to the top.
