Georgian Inlaid Mercury Barometer by Fiora of Nottingham.

Description

A Georgian period mercury wheel barometer. A mahogany case with an architectural pediment and original brass central finial. Marquetry and parquetry shell inlays to the case. A long engraved silvered dial. The main dial is engraved 'FIORA NOTTINGHAM'. Circa 1820.

Fiora of Nottingham is recorded in Banfields' 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working at Long Row, Nottingham from 1814-1830.
