Superb Georgian Dropdial Fusee Wall Clock, Daniels Liverpool

Description

A fine quality Georgian period 14" dial fusee dropdial wall clock. A mahogany case with choice flame veneers and crossbanding to the trunk. The original side carvings and opening bottom door. A cast brass bezel surround to the 14" dial with beautiful blued steel counterbalanced serpentine hands. A high quality 8-day duration fusee mechanism with shaped plates. Circa 1820.

Henry Daniels of Liverpool is recorded in Loomes' 'Lancashire Clockmakers' book as working at Castle Street from 1814-1822.
