Description

This exquisite and unusual Art Deco silver and guilloche enamel compact was made by the prolific Adie Brothers and is dated Birmingham 1930. The rich turquoise guilloche enamel lid applied with a marcasite floral decoration.

Engine-turned silver sides and base.

Inset mirror to the inner hinged lid.

Hallmarks:

A BROS LD for the Adie Brothers.

Birmingham Assay mark.

date letter "E" for 1930.

Lion Passant.

Dimensions:

Diameter: 4.5cm - 1.6 inches.

Height: 1cm - 0. 3 inches.

Condition:

Good.

Enamel in excellent condition.

Minor dings to base.

Mirror with a few tiny spots.

Good hinge.
