Gatsby Jewellery Ltd has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The stone is rubover set in platinum, and encircled by 30 white single cut diamonds with fluted detailing along the closed, cup gallery. Each of the large, trefoil shoulders holds a further 10 diamonds, leading to a slim D-shaped shank. Fabulously, thoroughly unique.

Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Round cut sapphire and eight-cut diamonds.

Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – Some inclusions in the sapphire are visible to the naked eye. The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 15.02 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.65 carat.

Circa – 1950.
Size – O (UK) or 7 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 14.40 x 14.64mm. The head of the ring is 18.7 x 18.75 and sits 9.75mm from the finger.
Metal – Platinum. Tested.
