Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian portrait miniature is a small, detailed painting executed during the Georgian era, created primarily as a personal keepsake or token of affection prior to the invention of photography.

These miniatures were commonly painted using watercolour or gouache on card, vellum, or ivory, and were subsequently protected by glass and encased in metal or wooden frames.

Authentic pieces from this period display hand-painted brushwork, period-accurate hairstyle and costume details such as lace caps and corkscrew ringlets, along with period construction techniques in the metal frame.

Small portrait miniatures function well when displayed within a curated gallery wall, supported on a tabletop easel, or placed on a bookshelf alongside leather-bound volumes.

Preserve the piece by keeping it away from direct sunlight and areas of high humidity, avoiding temperature fluctuations that could warp the backing or damage the delicate paint.
