High quality gun metal and lacquered brass shooters butt marker/place finder in the form of a 12 bore shotgun cartridge, circa 1930s.
The base twists to reveal a raised section of eight silver numbered pegs, the cartridge base marked ASPREY`S CARTRIDGE PLACE FINDER Patent Applied For, the top marked `LOADED BY ASPREY, 6, SMOKELESS`,
The eight numbered pegs are randomly inserted. number side down, into the slots inside the cartridge, each shooter then draws a peg and the revealed number shows the actual shooting position (butt) that they will use.
Retains almost all of its original bronzing and lacquer, good smooth opening and closing action.
2,3/8'' or 6cm long.
