Webberley Antiques has dated this piece to the 1700s.
The plate is beautiful with very little foxing, glittery speckling and with the soft grey hue so attractive in hand made plate but very bright for age, useable and very fine glass indeed. Rebates to the back which would once have housed the cresting but as with the vast majority of mirrors of this age the cresting is long since lost. This is a fabulous mirror, large for the period - the beautiful marquetry all hand cut and surviving in exceptional condition.
Some old worm, very little, and a small fillet added to the back where the cresting once ran.
The plate is hand made and is either the original or an 18th century replacement/
