Rare novelty Dunhill Bolide MG motor car table lighter, circa 1930s
as shown in the Blei & Bottoni Dunhill lighter book.
According to the book this model first appeared in the Rue de la Paix in 1934, the second model having the lighter under the bonnet, all known examples are unmarked.
The lighter mechanism occupies the passengers seat, when the gear lever is pulled (against a spring) the flame cover is raised, a spark is produced on release.
Chrome plated brass body with original black ''hammerite'' painted chassis.
Missing the windscreen, replaced non original rubber tyres, some light spotting and scratches to the chrome, nothing bad, otherwise all original,
In very good condition and working order.
Length 6'' or 155mm, weight 366 grams.
