Victorian Solid Silver 8" Salver Tray by Alexander Macrae, London 1864

Description

This is a superb and very decorative mid-Victorian solid sterling silver salver tray by the silversmith Alexander Macrae. Of shaped circular form, with a raised pie crust edge , the tray with Gothic style engraving. Raised on three ornate bracket feet and having a very good silver gauge.

Hallmarks:

AM for Alexander Macrae.

London Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Duty Mark.

Date letter "i" for 1864.

Dimension and Weight:

Diameter: 21cm / 8 inches.

Height: 3 cm / 1.2 inch.

Weight: 13oz / 375 g

Condition:

Excellent.

No personal inscriptions. No dents, no repairs.
