George V Silver Mounted Angostura Bitters Bottle by John Grinsell & Sons, Birmingham 1922

Description

This elegant silver mounted crystal glass Angostura bitters bottle bears the marks of the renowned John Grinsell & Sons and is dated Birmingham 1922. These bottles are not easy to find and therefore quite sought-after. Hallmarked silver lid and pourer, typically mounted on a cork.

The heavy lead crystal glass bottle with attractive sliced-cut decorations.

These days could equally be used as a balsamic vinegar or olive oil bottle.

Hallmarks:

JG&S for John Grinsell & Sons.

Birmingham Assay mark.

Lion passant.

Date letter "x" for 1922.

Dimensions:

Height: 16cm - 6.2 inches.

Diameter at widest: 8cm - 3.2 inches

Condition:

Excellent. Silver top in excellent condition. Glass in perfect condition.
