Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

The portrait is set into a typically Victorian glassed swivel brooch in gold coloured metal, with sturdy rope twist frame. The centre revolves around a vertical pin, enabling the front or reverse to be worn facing forward. The reverse has a little tableau of arranged hair around a central monogram formed of tiny white beads.

In very good antique condition, a little of the detail is lost from the monogram on the back. No chips or cracks to the glass. Light surface wear to the frame. The glass protrudes from one side of the frame a little more on one side than the other but we mention this only for accuracy. The swivel and C clasp work perfectly.
