French Ladies Writing Table/bureau De Dame

Description

Circa 1880, French marquetry inlaid walnut ladies writing desk/bureau de dame.
The wavy shaped top has a three quarter fretted brass gallery and floral inlay surrounded by a string border.
Below this, the bombe shaped fall front with similar inlay opens to show a fitted interior with drawers and a slide back compartment.
The shaped sides and apron at the front are also inlaid with marquetry and string inlay. All standing on cabriole supports with brass mounts.
We are situated in the old market town of Devizes, Wiltshire and have been trading in French, Victorian and period furniture for the last ten years.
