Very Rare Bamboo cased Limoges Panel Striking Carriage Clock c1860
The Rarer Chinese/Japanese influenced bamboo case with silvered bamboo canes holding the gilt pagoda top. The base having a filigree pattern in alternate silver and gilt layers really does make this clock stand out.
The rarity of this clock is in the grey panels with very intricate hand made Limoges scenes of bird and insects intertwined with fine foliage. The quality of these panels have to be seen to be appreciated.
The Movement is stamped with the makers mark of a V and D in an oval, along with this the case has the stamp of A and D in a triangle for A.Dumas. The movement has been fully overhauled by me personally and comes with a full three years guarantee for your peace of mind.
I have purposely not over restored the case and have simply carefully cleaned back the layers of dust and grime to reveal its original finish, i did this because i felt that re-gilding the case would have made the clock look too new. If However you would like the case to be finished differently please let me know.
