Jeff Sims Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Families would sometimes have a pineapple stand in cut glass or ceramic on a side table or as a dining table centerpiece. Upturned they would also double as a ham stand and a large joint, surrounded by fruit and decoration would provide the focal point of a gathering or feast. This handsome and unusual early Victorian example has a waisted centre, with panels of barrel cutting throughout. A rare and desirable piece of 19th Century table glass. Dimensions below.
