George Hamilton Constantine 1878-1967.Sheffield painter of landscapes with figures and seascapes; his rural paintings almost always feature the two horses that live on the family farm near Sheffield.He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery ,Liverpool.He did not need to exhibit his works widely as there was a steady demand for it from dealers in this country and New York.In the 1930 s he became assistant to Sir William Rothstein who was Professor of Civic Art at Sheffield University.Constantine became Director of the Graves Art Gallery in the1950s.’ Harvest Time’ signed watercolour,image size 22.5x29.5 cms,framed size 43x48.5 cms
