Description

Delightful and unusual early 20th.c. Italian alabaster bust of a girl writing c.1920. Beautifully carved in a naturalistic pose, pausing for thought with pen and paper as she composes a letter to her father on his name day (when people celebrate the Saint after whom they were named). Lovely detail to the hair, face and the lace sleeves of her dress. Good condition with some old repairs to the front corners.
