This is a superb and rare example of Arts and Crafts period cigarette casket.
I am delighted to be able to share this wonderfully crafted piece to collectors of Arts and Crafts or Tobacciana as a rare and most superb example.
The cutting of the oak shows a beautiful grain.
Combined with the copper banding with Turquoise rondels it simply shouts Arts and crafts hammered copper signage with the distinctive type lettering of the period.
The legs are neatly bound in hammered copper sheet.
The overall piece is incredibly tactile and sports a patina only developed with age.
Perhaps the most famous household name associated with the Arts and crafts movement is Archibald Knox the designer appointed by Libertys of London to design many of their iconic and much sort after pieces.
If you wish to view this piece you are welcome to visit the shop by appointment.
I ship internationally.
This piece is in pristine condition, two copper hinge pins have been professionally replaced like for like.
This is a unique and ”useable” antique .
You are the new custodian, enjoy and treasure, this heirloom.
