Victorian Sterling Silver Inkwell on Stand by Henry Lias, London 1875

Description

This stunning Victorian silver inkstand was made by the renowned Henry Lias and is dated London 1875. The circular base finely engraved with Gothic style decorations. The centre fitted with a detachable cut glass silver lidded inkwell. Both hinged lid and receptacle fully hallmarked. The glass inkwell is by the same maker and date.

HL over HL for Henry Lias

London Assay mark.

Duty Mark.

Lion Passant.

Inkstand: Date letter "u" for 1875

Inkwell: Date letter "u" for 1875.

Dimensions:

Diameter: 15cm / 6 inches

Height: 10cm / 4 inches.

Condition:

Very good throughout.

Glass inkwell in very good condition.

Silver in very good condition.
