Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The body coopered with brass banding, and mounted to either end with substantial lion mask ring handles. The cooler on the original stand, the oval conforming frieze with facing veneers, above the four tapering legs, finishing with brass cup castors.
Date circa 1770.
