Description

An elegant Art Deco bar brooch comprising three round-cut blue sapphires interspersing two tiny seed pearls in a bezel setting with milgrain detail. The body of the brooch is solid 15-carat gold with a fine silver overlay to the front. The middle section in which the gems are set is silver.

The reverse is marked 15CT towards each end. Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.

The brooch feels very sturdy and well made in the hand. Secures with a simple C clasp.
