Description

This pretty little Victorian stick pin could be worn as a brooch, lapel pin or tie pin. The head of the pin is in the form of a gold knot with a vibrant turquoise cabochon at its centre.

The head is solid 15-carat gold of a rich slightly rosy hue, with the pin itself rendered in steel. The shaft has typical twisted grooves around the centre but more unusually is also engraved with a zig-zag design towards the point.

Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.

Marked 15CT.
