Description

Japanese carved sea ivory okimono, Meiji period, 1868-1912

Well carved and concieved with two playful character shi shi or lion dogs.

Black inlaid eyes, their heavy coats of spiraling fur curls cascade around their neck and rump, engraved rings of fur throughout.

In excellent condition with no damage or repair.
