Exceptional Quality Arabesque Marquetry Longcase Clock by John Gammon c1690
The beautifully restored arabesque marquetry longcase clock with an almost three dimensional effect to the base. The photographs really do not do this clock justice and should be seen to be fully appreciated. Although not shown on the photograph the clock also has its original gesso with gilt covered finials that are currently being professionally stabilised. They will be re-instated when finished.
The fine, well made five knopped and ringed pillar moement with inside countwheel mechanism is currently not overhauled and will be cleaned and polished to your specific specification. When overhauled it will have a full three year guarantee for your peace of mind.
little is known of John Gammon of London except that a lantern clock inscribed "John Gammon Londini Fecit" is dated around 1670 and also a silver watch c1680.
