Description

A fine 18th century mahogany secretaire bookcase of unusually small proportions with well matched veneered drawer fronts. The top two dummy drawers enclosing a well fitted desk interior with eleven small drawers, three pigeon holes and a secret drawer above. The top of the bottom half is crossbanded in mahogany.

The glazed top with gothic arched glazing bars with adjustable shelves ideal for books or display. It has a dentil moulded cornice with attractive ebony and boxwood inlaid detail. It is oak lined throughout and has fine dovetail joints and sits on a mahogany plinth. A great quality piece.
