Description

A watercolour painting by Lancashire artist Vallance J. Gregson. This painting is titled" Farm, Edgeworth". Not much is known about the artist but after some research at Blackburn library we have found the following information out. Vallance J. Gregson was a male artist but has previously been recorded as a female artist, we are now 100% sure he was born Vallance Jean Gregson 30th September 1911 and died in February 1992 in Ludlow, Shropshire. He joined the Royal artillery in 1938.He and his brother are thought to have lived in Bacup and were working in the slipper factories during this time. He exhibited his work in the R & A, London, The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and also in Manchester and Bacup
