Description

A gorgeous early 19thC small burr maple box with a maker’s label underneath for Edmund NYE (1797-1863), of Tunbridge Wells, the renowned maker of fine boxes and tunbridgeware.

This box shows the very fine grain and pattern of the burr wood, and has very fine ebony stringing around the top and on the edges of the top and base.
