Painter of landscapes and moonlight scenes in oils. Studied at Leeds College of Art and became a pupil of John Atkinson Grimshaw. Painted views of Scarborough, Whitby and docksides. His paintings were sometimes signed ‘Walter Linsley’, his mother’s maiden name.
