An excellent example of an Art Deco Cup.
Clearly hallmarked on the side for Birmingham 1937, with the maker''s mark for James Fenton & Co.
It is huge and plain and difficult to photograph. A perfectly spherical shape with elegant wide, looping handles, free of inscriptions. At some point of its life it has been attached to a base or plinth, which has now been removed, leaving the screw attached inside the base. There is one small crease, less than 2cm in length and not deep, just below the rim, otherwise in excellent condition. A wonderful piece.
