Large Victorian Howard Style Armchair by Cornelius V Smith

Description

A stunning Victorian deep seated Howard style armchair by Cornelius V Smith of country house proportions, with square button back, sprung seat and scroll-over arms, raised on ring turned mahogany front supports with brass and porcelain castors. Newly upholstered in William Yeoward jute weave stripe fabric.

A fabulously comfortable, quality, armchair, newly restored and traditionally upholstered. The front castors are original, the back castors are Victorian examples but not original to the chair. A great reading or lounge chair.

With maker's mark stamped on one of the back legs.

91cm high, 74cm wide at the front, the seat 69cm deep and 36cm high.
