Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Very handsome piece of furniture free of almost any applied decorations or metalwork to detract from the beautiful pattern of the symmetrically arranged flame mahogany veneers across the front and sides. Overhanging top with crossbanded edges and flared apron, rounded front corners with a very simple moulded detail and raised on a moulded plinth with slim pad feet. Superior quality, note how the inside of the doors are veneered to match, with mahogany fronts to the inside drawers and oak drawer linings. Original lock with long latches running the full height of the right hand door (suggesting the piece may have been built as a silver cabinet). Oak carcass and backboards. Some wear to the protruding sides of the top, otherwise excellent colour and condition. Cleaned, restored and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
Dimensions: width 42", depth 17", height 54½".
