Description

Splendid mid 19th.c. leather and mahogany easy armchair c.1860. Buttoned backrest, angled and shaped for comfort, over a large sprung seat. Vintage cream leather upholstery with brass studwork to the edges. Straight arms, also upholstered, raised on turned mahogany spindles crisply carved with an unusual rope twist detail. Swept back legs for stability whilst the front take the form of large turned buns with a repeat of the twist carving. All raised on the original large brass and white ceramic castors each stamped for the English maker’s Cope & Collinson. Very good condition, solid and sturdy. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
