Victorian Cast Iron Lion Rampant Doorstop

19th century
Description

Circa 1900; A matt black, very heavy cast Lion doorstop with part of a trade mark on the back. The camera has made it appear to be shiny.

The doorstop weighs 4.9kgs and is 38cm in height; 25cm wide and the depth is approximately 7cm.

The last photograph shows the manufacturers mark, or registered name and we think it starts with an R but cannot make out the rest of the wording.

The black paint shows signs of wear, but is completely original and the items itself is in very good condition with no signs of damage.
