Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It features 4 intricately shaped posts with square stepped stems and ball finials. The bed is structurally very solid and sturdy and has had metal rails added to the inside of the frame to allow a base and mattress to be added. Internally its 93cm, so will take a standard 3ft mattress with the addition a of a base or slats underneath. Comprises of a headboard, a footboard and sides (no base or mattress included).

Condition Report:
Very solid and sturdy. Good warm patina and colour to the frame. The top sections of the posts are all a little loose (but secure). Various old mends to the delicate scroll work along with old brackets across the rear of the headboard. A hole to the front legs where the original side rails would have been bolted through. Some old worm holes in places. Other wear and marks commensurate with age.
