In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Regency era.
Below the drawers is an additional slide with a fitted baize. It likely contained a sewing table style silk at some point but the baize provides an excellent additional surface. It is a good size and would make a perfect desk or side table.
It is in good original condition with a beautiful rich patina. It is strong and sturdy and the drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are some general signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks and an old split in the top which has been repaired but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
