Meiji Period carved ivory okimono, Japan, circa 1880.
 
A circular group of three tussling demons, a lively skeleton and a frog reaching down a lotus flower.
 
Carved from a large section of thick hollow tusk, an inherent crack in the tusk section has been worked into the design by the carver.
 
In excellent condition with no damage or repair.
 
Height 3,5/8'' or 93mm, largest diameter 3,1/4'' or 83mm, weight 240 grams.
