Porcelain Panelled Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock

Description

A good quality French mantel clock. A gilt bronze case surmounted by two cherubs/putti. Floral case decorations to the case and standing on adjustable feet. A porcelain dial with intricate gilt hands. A circular porcelain portrait to the base and two porcelain panels to the sides which are numbered and signed. An 8-day duration mechanism by Japay Freres with 1855 mark and also 'W Oppenheim, Paris' mark. Half hour and hour bell striking. Circa 1865.
