Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The watch is the calibre 491 fully automatic movement, as you can see it is in fabulous condition. The serial number accurately dates it to 1959 and it has a reference number of 2897.
The solid 18ct rose gold case measures 35mm in diameter excluding the winding crown.
It has the Omega symbol on the crown and genuine Omega buckle has been fitted. A new glass has been fitted and the case has been professionally polished so it is in superb condition.
It comes with its original presentation box.
As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case. It comes with a brand new high quality presentation box and premium black leather strap.
The case is fully hallmarked.
Overall this watch is in outstanding condition, a rare find indeed and one of the most beautiful Omega watches ever made and highly sought after by Omega collectors it looks as if it was rarely worn.
The watch has been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Omega in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.
