A Superb Regency Period Flame Mahogany Antique Work Table.

Description

A superb Regency Period flame mahogany antique work table. Having a rectangular top veneered in the finest flamed mahogany veneers which are repeated in the frieze and drawer fronts. With a mahogany lined drawer in each end, one fitted for sewing accompaniments, both with "Sausage and pea" moulded detail. Having a central sliding pencil pleated silk work box, the whole supported on turned and fluted "Gillows" design columns on shaped platform ends with finely carved feet and inset brass castors. Although not apparently marked this work box is very much in the style, quality and of a known Gillows design. English circa 1820-1830

Dimensions: 27" wide x 19" deep x 28.5" high

Condition: This work table is in excellent condition, cleaned and waxed. The sewing box has been re-lined in silk.
