. The shaped candle-nozzles mounted on the truncated sword blade , the base of which bear stamped Patent registration numbers .

The open-work brass basket-hilts each cast with the Royal cypher of Queen Victoria , an intertwined “VR” , Victoria Regina . The sword handles with twisted-wire bound black shagreen grips , the back of the handle cast with scroll leaf detail.

In excellent original condition with well-cast detail and patination.
Superb decorative item for display with military campaign items or furniture , evoking strong military , cavalry connotations, and the heroic days of derring-do and Empire .
