A late 17th century country Country House Child''s nursery or bedroom 6 plank Oak Coffer, Of very small proportions, and of very simple construction, The coffers lid with its chipped carved ends, and strap hinges, sits above, a three carved Geometric lozenge front, and V cut ends and it has excellent colour, How do we know that this child''s coffer is from a country house because back in the late 17th century, only very wealthy people who owned country a house, could afford to have a children''s coffer made in this way, the 3 Geometric lozenges on the front of this coffer are carved out of the solid, and have not been applied later, And it might of taken a couple of days for the who made this small coffer, to carve the front by removing all the material with a chisel, leaving the Geometric lozenges standing proud, plus all the other work which has gone into making this children''s coffer, no ordinary parents of the late 17th century could afford to have a coffer made for one there children like this extremely rare one,
