Description

This charming little 'chanteh' (vanity-bag) was woven by Sanjabi Kurds at the end of the 19th century. Chantehs were made by women for their use only and were never intended for sale in the commercial markets. Today, little chantehs are rare and this one is in very good complete condition with plain-weave back. Vanity-bags were used to contain jewellery, mirrors and coins and were generally highly-prized possessions within the nomadic environment.

Reduced from £475 to £300!
