A late Regency mahogany elbow or desk chair bearing the stencil “From Haynes Manufacturer Yarmouth”. The Haynes family specialised in chair making, upholstery and looking glass manufactory during the early 19th.century.Their workshop’s were on King Street and North Quay in Great Yarmouth until Thomas Haynes’s bankruptcy on 10th. March 1838. This chair has a curved top rail a well carved splat, scroll arms and drop-in seat which has been re-upholstered in top quality hand dyed leather. The chair is raised on sabre legs and is in very good condition. Dimensions:- Height…34.5’’/ 88cm. Width…20.5’’/ 52cm. Depth…24’’/ 61cm. Seat Height…18.4’’/ 47cm.
