In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The front is engraved with initials that look like "H.J.B from E.L". It is stylish and good quality with a gilt interior and it weighs approximately 123g.
It is clearly hallmarked for Henry Wilkinson & Co, Sheffield, 1848. It is also stamped on the bottom "3445".
It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks, some minor dinks and a small dent on the top of the handle (see photo) but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
