Why I'm selling this beautiful and visually attractive 'khorjin' (saddle-bags) I have no idea, as they have been in my personal collection for many years! Anyway, I hope they will find a good home where they will be appreciated for the stunning quality they are.

Illustrated in my 3rd edition 'Tribal Rugs - Treasures of the Black Tent' on page 264, they were made by Shahsevan nomads in Azerbaijan during the last quarter of the 19th Century. The overall design appears to be stylised 'trees' and on the back, the charming depiction of stylised birds and various other symbols including a quadruped with body missing! These wonderful bags are in excellent complete overall condition and have been loved and well looked after.
