A Magnificent Octagonal Mahogany Cased Queen Elizabeth 11 royal Cypher Post Office Clock, No Efw 53/1 And 25513 Dated 1953, By F W Elliott
Status:This item has been sold Sold by:Oliver Sargent Antiques
For sale this magnificent mahogany cased clock by F W Elliott with Queen Elizabeth 11 Royal Cypher & GPO, clock no EFW 53/1 and 25513, dated 1953. This fine clock is fitted with the F W Elliott fusee chain movement stamped with matching numbers to the pendulum, movement back plate and mahogany case. Fully marked original dial retaining all original paint and in fine condition. The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth 11 took place on the 2nd June 1953, so this actual clock must have been made just after the Coronation, making it a much more desirable clock especially with the Royal Cypher to the dial. The clock case boasts 2 opening hatches, one top, one bottom. Very substantial brass bezel with original glass. I think anyone looking for a best quality wall clock by a British maker with excellent investment potential should seriously consider this item. The clock is in full working order. Size approx. 38.5cm max case from side to side and approx. 14.5 cm max deep, dial is 30.5cm diameter.... Price £795.00
