Description
A 19th century Dutch mahogany decanter box. The box has six original gilt decorated glass decanters and stoppers. The box has a domed front and is veneered in very good quality flamed mahogany with a pair of turned ivory knob handles on the lid. The box is red paper lined and has six compartments to take the decanters while inside the lid holds a pair of gilded glasses for tasting. The six decanters are square with rounded shoulders that are gilt decorated and each has a mushroom shaped stopper. The box and decanters are in good condition, two of the stoppers have some chipping around the mushroom shaped top. We have now replaced the ribbon support that holds the lid open at 90 degrees.
