In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1930s.
Both the collar and top are clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1931 with the maker's mark K&L.
It is in very good condition for its age and there are no damages to the enamel.
The glass is in good condition with no cracks and just a few small nibbles on the edges of some of the cut squares (see photo). The hinge is strong and opens well with just some minor natural side-to-side play. The silver has been lightly cleaned and polished and overall it displays very well.
